Maximum

Today, I was just Mum. I wasn’t an employee, or a colleague, or a coach, or an athlete, or a cleaner, or a shopper. I was just Mum and it was amazing.

I was able to do it properly to my standards. I watched every race. I fixed the hair. I retrieved the forgotten things. I baked the cake for the stall. It was all about her and she lapped it up.

If only we could section our time out like this, have each day assigned to a particular demand. It was a rare opportunity and I was able to embrace it.

The simple things in life really are the best.
