The vacuum bag:
These are a god send, particularly for winter holidays. With the Travel Bee’s departing for Japan in seven days, the bags are out and the ski gear looks huge. But, with the help of these nifty little bags it now only takes up one quarter of a 66cm case (per person). That’s pretty good.
We have used both the bags requiring a vacuum cleaner to suck out the air and the roll bags with a vent to let the air out. The vacuum cleaner ones do remove the most air, but your choice is obviously dictated by access to a vacuum cleaner at the other end.
On our last ski trip we had an entertaining episode of Master 16 sneaking down the hall in our hotel to borrow the vacuum cleaner….. it involved a lot of ‘shhhh’ and giggling but the job was done. Why we didn’t just ask to borrow it is anyone’s guess….. this way was more fun?!
For this trip I have opted for the roll the air out type.
